San Diego Super Bloom

It was a rainy winter and start to spring in San Diego, which has led to the most incredible Super Bloom in Southern California. Take a drive out to the local deserts to see the Super Bloom in all its glory. Travel + Leisure has a roundup of where to go, including Anza-Borrego and Walker Canyon in Riverside County. Be sure to respect local traffic laws, signage, and be mindful of taking only photographs and leaving only footprints. It’s been a popular place to visit this spring, so prepare for crowds.

Don’t want to make the drive out to the desert? Check out San Diego’s Mission Trails Regional Park to take in the fantastic florals blooming now, which include golden yarrows, crown daisies, Johnny jump ups, Virgin’s bower, golden tarweed, bladderpods, black mustard, California sunflowers, Hooker’s evening primrose, deerweed, Bermuda buttercup, and common golden stars.
